Denpasar Heritage Tour

Diorama Drama, Dutch Courage and a Kecak Attack

Boldly go where most tourists fear to tread, on an adventure into the heart of Bali’s bustling capital city, Denpasar for a fascinating encounter with Balinese culture.

Take lunch at your leisure. Then our guide will whisk you to the consular district of Renon, home of the Bajra Sandhi monument. With a dramatic central spire, the monument is instantly recognisable, and contains photographs and diorama rooms which recount the rich and turbulent history of the Balinese people.

Visit fascinating sites such as Puputan Badung Square, which commemorates the struggles of the Balinese against the Dutch colonial forces, and Jagatnatha, Denpasar’s largest temple with several unique design elements, followed by a visit to the Bali Museum. Dedicated to art and history, the museum dates from 1931.

Around mid-afternoon, head to the Badung Central Market to experience the sensory feast that is Bali’s largest market, a riot of colour, spice and commerce. Unwind with a coffee and snacks at the historical Oongan Cafe before a performance of the fiery, unforgettable spectacle that is a Balinese Kecak dance. Then, head back to Sudamala Sanur, for a well-earned cocktail at ARES restaurant.

The Denpasar Heritage Tour is approximately 7 hours (12.30 – 20.00) and includes Private Tour Guide and Vehicle, Coffee Break, all Donations & Entrance Fees.
