The Three Gilis Tour

Island Hops, Snorkel Stops and Mountain Monkey Business

In the Sasak language, ‘gili’ simply means ‘small island’ – however these days ‘the Gilis’ are synonymous with three idyllic and at times very crowded popular tropical atolls off the northwest coast of Lombok – Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air. On this full-day tour you will experience all three Gilis in one day. So bring your hat and slap on some serious sunscreen if you are prone to sunburn – the sun here is fierce and unforgiving.

It’s a short boat ride over to the islands, departing from a small private harbour on the west coast, called Teluk Nara. On the way to Teluk Nara you stop at a traditional market and a mountain pass lookout where you’ll encounter the local monkey troop, inhabitants of the symian variety.

From Teluk Nara, you’ll head to Gili Air for some snorkelling and relaxing on the beach, followed by a trip to tranquil Gili Meno, the middle island. Finally, Gili Trawangan, is the largest, and busiest of the islands complete with luxury resorts, restaurants and bars, and a flotilla of speedboats and snorkellers jostling for position over the bleached and somewhat underwhelming corals. In the afternoon, head back to Sudamala, stopping at Malimbu Hill, the perfect location for some sunset shots.

The Three Gilis Tour is a full day tour and includes includes Private English-speaking Driver & Vehicle, Private Boat Charter, Fins & Snorkelsles, Lunch Box, Cold Drinks, Towels & Entrance Fees.
