Snapshots of the enchanting island of Lombok

Allow us to introduce you to the charms of Lombok, and fall for this captivating island in a matter of hours.

The tour is expected to last approximately 6 to 7 hours, depending on the duration guests spend in each location.

The tour begins at the hotel at 9 AM with a coconut climbing experience, guided by a Sudamala team member. We will pick young coconuts and drink fresh juice directly from the coconut, just the way locals enjoy it.

Afterwards, we head off to the oldest fishermen’s village in Ampenan to see local fishermen in action.

From here, we continue the journey to Gunung Pengsong temple and Monkey Forest. Guests may choose to stay longer in this area to feed the monkeys, or opt to climb the hill top where the temple is located. Where required, a local guide from the temple will be able to escort. The walk will take approximately 40 minutes. From the temple, guests would be able to enjoy fantastic views of the city of Mataram and the majestic Indian Ocean.

We will then depart Gunung Pengsong and continue the journey to meet pottery makers in Banyu Mulek. Here, in the traditional factory of the world-famous pottery, guests are invited to try their hand on pottery-making or simply view the collection.

Next stop is a visit to Lombok’s traditional hand-weaving in Sukarara. Here guests will be shown the process of turning the humble thread to intricate works of art. The most famous of them is the elaborate and colorful songket and sarong. Guests will also have the opportunity to try weaving.

As the tour wraps up, we will be heading back to the hotel through the Lombok country-side and making pit stops to see rice fields and Lombok’s natural vegetation along the way.
