Sanur, Bali — 16 May 2025: Sudakara Art Space proudly presents a solo exhibition by Nusa Penida-born artist Putu Bonuz, titled Wave Dance. This exhibition showcases abstract paintings that explore the emotional and visual connections between the sea, the shore, and the mountains in the artist’s life.

Having grown up in a coastal environment, Putu Bonuz draws primary inspiration from the ocean for his creative process. The dominant use of blue in his works captures the movement and rhythm of waves, while the rough textures combined with black tones represent the steadfast cliffs along the shore and the strong principles he holds in life. In several of his pieces, faint mountain forms appear as a reflection of Mount Agung, a constant presence in his childhood landscape.

“Wave Dance is a visual expression of how the sea touches the land—just like colours touch the canvas. This exhibition invites us to see the ocean not merely as a landscape, but as a part of life’s journey and identity,” says Putu Bonuz.

The exhibition is open to the public and runs from 16 May to 31 July 2025 at Sudakara Art Space, Sudamala Resort, Sanur. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in artworks that speak not only of form and colour but also of stories, memories, and the deep bond between humans and nature.
